Q. What breed will the dog be?
A. She is a Labernese, a hybrid of Labrador and Bernese Mountain dog.
Q. What is the dog’s name?
A. The dog’s name is not public information. Ahbee uses the dog’s name to tell it what to do and where to go, and so we do not publish it. When we have a nickname for public use, we will post it.
Q. What group or school is she attending?
A. MIRA Canada, in Montreal, Quebec. MIRA USA, with headquarters in North Carolina, is partnering with Mira Canada to provide dogs to these five young women from the United States.
Q. Isn’t she young for a guide dog? I thought you had to be 18 to get a Seeing Eye dog?
A. MIRA is the only organization in the world that provides dogs for people under 17. And Seeing Eye is actually the name of another guide dog organization.
Q. How long will she be in Canada?
A. The training is four intense weeks.

A. Through a friend who got a dog last year. She was on a braille reading team with Ahbee.
