Friday, July 12th

This morning was very eventful!

While I was at breakfast, Eric came along. About this time, a dog came inside and all the dogs started to act up and bark. The dogs startled and scared me when they started barking without knowing at first what had just happened. Most of them barked. My dog seemed to be pretty calm, but she wasn't acting as usual, at the time. It was practice for us to control our dogs. They had the dog running around.

Next, I accidentally shut my dog's tail in the door. Ouch! I heard her and was startled! Whoa! I felt so terrible! Ian came over and talked to me, for a moment. He said, "You didn't think I was serious?" I wasn't being as careful as I should have.

Anyway, then while we were sitting in the living room, then the trainers had a dog playing and running around our dogs to help us practice distractions but probably more for control.

We went into town and worked on the route. This time, I got to finish the whole route. Well, most of it. Meredith, Kate, and I got a drink, each from the cafe. I finally got to do my route. We ate, macaroni with vegetables and meat. I decided to eat fresh cherries for my dessert! Yum!
Ahbee and her dog are at the front of a group of people and guide dogs walking down a sidewalk on a shady street.
Here we are walking in town.

After that, Kayla, Meredith, and I got a chance to look at our route on the map.  Kate and Lexi went to the four corners and just crossed only three of the corners. Later, the three of us inside, went outside and worked just like Kate and Lexi were doing.

We had been informed, "You girls will go around the kennel and practice with distractions." The only thing is that we didn't do that. Two of the girls crossed corners. We finally finished, though. We finished pretty fast and quicker than most days.

I also had an eventful afternoon! There was watermelon but I didn't get any. I was going to get watermelon but by this time, Ian and all the  girls went to the park. There's a park beyond the kennel. It was our first time to go there. There were reporters for the TV channel.

We sat around and waited. Each girl got a chance to walk and/or run with our dogs. I loved running with my dog! They gave us dessert-like treats. They were actually sweets. There were fudge brownie-like sweets, maple sugar pie stuff, and another treat. My goodness! They were delicious but rich! Anyway, I liked it! They were sweet and nice people.

Today was so exciting! It probably was the most exciting and fun day that I've experienced here in Canada.
