Thursday, July 11

Today was the second day we've gone to town. There was waiting involved. Actually, a lot of waiting! I'm thankful for breaks, though!

We first went to town and tried walking the route Helene had shown us. We didn't or at least I didn't get to walk the whole route. I remember Ian informing me, "We won't do the whole route, right now. we won't do the three crossings." I thought after walking some of the route, "This isn't so bad."

Each girl worked with Helene, as well. She helped us listen to the traffic and help determine when it was safe to go. She helped us improve lining ourselves with the sound of the traffic, both parallel and perpendicular to it. It was great!

We ate, a small bowl of salad, chicken with pastry stuff on it and sauce, with bell peppers, and broccoli. We had a tiny break, after lunch.

We went back to work after driving a while. It was a somewhat bumpy ride, there. We listened to an English radio station! It had hit songs being played. During the ride, my friend, Kayla, and I slept just a teeny bit. I felt so much better and energetic by the time we arrived at our destination.

We waited and sat in the grass. I got to go walk with my dog and Ian. There was a sidewalk and small street crossings. I got a chance to practice walking on sidewalks with my dog. I had to determine when to go. I played with the speed of my dog and how fast I could go. I had to wait for my turn to go with Helene, but  finally I got my turn. She helped me with some more aligning with the traffic. We'd walk some and try to figure how to walk parallel with the traffic but not too far away or too close. She'd turn me so that I not going the right way. It was on purpose so that I could try to align with the traffic on my own. I'm so happy for her to be around! She knows her stuff!

Lastly, we rode back in the  car and  visited with each  other while listening to the radio. I gave my dog water. She sure did drink a bunch! She seems to be doing well, though. Anyway, it was a nice day even though it was warm.

Oh, yes!  We ate creamy soup, first. Then, we ate shrimp, rice, carrots, and snow peas, I think it was. I enjoyed today's events, even though there was a lot of thinking involved and just plain hard work!
