Thursday, July 25th

Thursday was very quiet. In the morning, Kayla and I stayed back in the dorm. We did our own things. The other three walked their routes. The parents followed them to understand how to guide them when having the guide dogs. They can not make short cuts. They have to go to the curb when coming out of a restaurant or building. The other thing is to walk all the way to the corner. They can not make diagonals. When we walk, it has to be straight unless there are obstacles in the way.

I hung out in my room most of the morning. I used the internet and listened to music. I played with my dog few minutes, took a small nap, and visited with Kayla.

After lunch, Kayla and I went on our routes. My dad hadn't arrived yet, but we ended up walking our route. I think Kayla's parents followed her. We got to walk the route together. We each would talk to one another about what we needed to do. The person who was more inside from the street, got to cross the street first. I had fun working with her. She and I grew very close during the training. We have some of the same similarities.

We then came back to the dorm. The veterinarian for Mira came and spoke about how to take care of our dogs. She gave us information about our dogs' shots and healthyness. It was good information! I didn't understand all of it but thankfully Dad took notes.

Then, I brought my dad to my room. I showed him around the room and answered his questions. My dad left while I was eating dinner. I'm very happy for a quieter day.
Ahbee and Kayla show big smiles of relief and gratitude. They are sitting in an outdoor cafe.
This is Kayla and Ahbee, celebrating the news that we both passed our final test. We get to take our dogs home with us!
